Rules

Matches are to be played, if at all possible, on the date shown on the fixture list, and each team will play every other team twice, once at home, once away.

Matches are to take place on Saturday mornings, except in special circumstances where the time must be agreed by both sides.

All matches must be played before the 5th April 2008

All teams must be affiliated to the Surrey FA, the league affiliation number is EL00043

Pitch sizes to be:

Year 3, 4 and 5: no greater than 60x40 yds, no less than 50x30 yards, using 12’x6’ goals.

Duration of each match should be 20 minutes each way

7 players per side plus up to 4 substitutes who can be used repetitively if so wished

There will be no off-side rule but goal poaching should be discouraged by coaches of both teams. A free kick should be given for persistent offending.

Size 3 ball to be used for Y3 and size 4 for Y4/Y5

SHINPADS MUST BE WORN.

Each team should provide adequate First Aid equipment.

Each team to register team colours to prevent clashes.

Both boys and girls are eligible to take part.

Referee to be appointed from the home team. His/her decision will be final.

If a year group has entered an ‘A’ and a ‘B’ team then wholesale swapping of players from one team to the other is against the spirit of the competition and may result in sanctions.

Coaches from both teams must confirm the match result to the League Coordinator by 5pm the following day

Points will be awarded: 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw. In the event of two or more Teams being equal on points the Team with the best goal difference shall take precedence. In the event of goal difference being equal then the Team scoring the most goals shall take precedence.

Should a match be cancelled by one side and cannot be re-arranged, then a 0-0 scoreline will be recorded and 3 points awarded to the opposition.

Each competing team must pay a £25.50 entrance fee and must be sent to the League Coordinator by the 30th September.

Each team is to provide details of Home Ground to all opposition at the beginning of the season.

The Tadworth League is a friendly league to allow the children to experience competitive football and learn how to behave towards:
•Their team mates
•The opposition
•The spectators
•The referee
Clubs should remind their supporters and coaches of the following:
•Touchline comment should only be supportive of the players
•The referee’s decision is final
•If there are concerns about the refereeing these should be held back until after the match. If this is not felt appropriate, the coach or referee should ask for the match to be stopped while the issue is resolved. The ultimate sanction at the time is for the coach to withdraw his players from the match or the referee to stop the match due to unacceptable behaviour from the sidelines.
